Hema, a Barry-Wehmiller group company, designs and manufactures filling equipment for liquid to pasty products and delivers innovative and competitive solutions to its customers. Hema, part of the Barry Wehmiller Group specialises in filling equipment for complex liquids and it provides the most innovative and competitive solutions to its customers.  Our company, with a workforce of 110 is based in Quimper, France and 90% of its sales are achieved internationally. As part of our current development, we are looking to recruit:

Mobile M/F beginner and experienced after-sales technicians

As part of the after-sales service, you will be in charge of the running-in of new machines, including installation, roll-out, training and repairs.

Having a sense of responsibility, also serviceable and autonomous, you will manage on-site customer visits, in accordance with technical procedures and an agreed schedule. Your proven technical knowledge will enable you to provide good quality service.

Frequent travel in France and abroad.

Required qualifications

BTS or DUT (University technician’s diploma) (e.g. in Industrial management). Solid knowledge in mechanics, PLC systems and electricity, as well as programming of Siemens automated systems. You will have successfully completed a first job experience of at least two years.

English is a pre-requisite.

Missions

In the Project design department, the project design PLC engineer writes the automated programs and operating task sheets, as well as the electrical circuits for machine functions, in line with the customer specifications.

  • Writes and validates technical solutions according to existing processes and ensure they conform to current regulations.
  • Carries out functional analyses, analysing and correcting each function
  • Suggests improvements within functions (run-in, maintenance, after-sales service, etc.)
  • Studies and analyses task sheets and technical manuals for the function in question
  • Draws up the electrical circuit plan of the machine, defines material needed and writes the parts list for building the machine, based on existing models.
  • Adapts and develops PLC programs in line with the needs of the function in question
  • Writes up the electrical and PLC needs analysis for peripheral equipment.
  • Ensures the correct integration and functioning of the program
  • Monitors different launch phases (On Time In Full)
  • Assists with compiling the technical dossier to check machine conformity
  • Assists with the run-in during the technical validation of the machine
  • Short on-site visits to customers in France and abroad.

Required qualifications

  • Technical BTS or DUT (Univeristy technician’s diploma) minimum or equivalent
  • Good level of English (reading/writing/speaking)

Experience

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience obtained in a similar technical position
  • Good knowledge of industrial equipment
  • Experience with SIEMENS automated systems
  • Other automated systems would be useful: BOSCH, B&R, ALLEN BRADLEY, etc.
  • Working knowledge of object programing and PLC languages, such as SCL, ladder.
  • Knowledge of PLC Open, motion, etc.
  • Working knowledge of electricity and See Expert
  • Sound understanding of pneumatics and hydraulics
  • Thorough with good organisational skills
  • Team skills
  • Problem solving skills
